This is where treks to Amarnath, Sialkot, Suru Valley, and other places begin. If historical data is to be believed, the average temperature during the freezing winters can fall below zero to a bone-chilling -45 °C. In the winter of 1995, when the temperature was -60°C, it was said to be the coldest it had ever been here.

          5. Srinagar

Although one of the best places to visit in India during summers, Srinagar really gets cold during winters.
